I hope this isn't lame...but a few of you have already figured out that I am OCD..so let me show you what I did (I was bored). I can't believe I haven't thought of this before...but sometimes I think too much and over-complicate things.
I get tired of hearing crap jingle in my OEM center console/arm rest every time I hit a good bump. I don't put much in there. Usually I just keep my small 22 pistol, a Smith & Wesson knife, a small Maglite, and a few other misc items.
I don't know if they make these already and I'm sure some of you have done something similar....but what I did was I went in my garage and took some of that rubbery anti-skid protector that people usually use to line the bottom of their toolbox shelves with (I got my liners from Sears),measured it to fit, and cut out 4 pieces that would nicely lay in the bottom of my console.
Like I said..this may be lame...but it looks a lot better that the terry cloth towel I did have in it as a liner. Its black, clean, it stays put, and it keeps a few things from sliding around when I stop quickly.
Here is a pic. The green hue in the pic is from my 10 LED dome "bulb" (looks like a disc and it fits nicely in my dome light) that I got from superbrightleds.com):
