Mod pics Part 2: The Interior Strikes Back

My OEM dome light with LED bulbs:


Old radio bezel, old head unit:



If anyone is interested, I have a few blank switch panels made of the textured ABS material already cut to size... no holes so you can mount whatever you want in there.

My (old) recycled oak floor console/cup holder/wiring cavity:

Relocated air bag switch + 2 12v outlets in the Explorer center console:


Working on the rear panel of the Expo console, added 3 12v outlets & 2 USB ports:


For some reason, I don't have any good pics of the entire Expo console or my Expo power seats.

New modded bezel:


Modded cluster trim (OEM was black, I painted mine gray):


Modded cluster (OEM had blue lighting, I wanted green... several LED's later. Also switched some of the indicator bulbs to LED's)

how much for the led dome light thingy that is bright as hell or is it just led replacement bulbs

It's just two 9 LED bulbs (T10 base) in the outer spots & one 6 or 8 LED festoon round bulb in the center.

Total cost: about $10 thanks to evilBay's "Hong Kong / China" sellers.

love the 3x foglight switches. i was eyeballing an explorer trim bezel last weekend at the junkyard and wondering what i could use to fill the rear window wiper / defogger switches... DUH never hit me for more light switches!

im with clinton, looks great & gets the gears turning on some ideas for my truck.... big question is, do i have the heart to tear mine apart?

what do those 4 switches do?, why do you have 3 fog switches? and how to you change the color of the lights of the fog switch and climate control nobs

One of my next bezel mods is going to be adding a 12v cig outlet to the button area of the rear wiper & filling in the insert area... with two OEM fog switches.
It won't be for my truck, rather I have a few guys wanting custom mods like that.

The 4 switches used to control my voltmeter, lights behind the grille, back up lights & an extra switch for symmetry.

I've since re-wired everything...
The 3 fog switches control my OEM fog lights, lights behind the grille & back up lights.

I wired my voltmeter's power to a relay so it now comes on anytime the truck is running.

I'm waiting on a new voltmeter so I can replace the switch panel with one that has no switch holes.

The hvac panel color is controlled by a thin film inside the hvac panel. Stock, they're blue or green... I just swapped in a green filter & some white leds to replace the OEM bulbs.
The hvac knobs also come with blue or green inserts. Again, I swapped in green knobs... I've also tried blue knobs & the contrasting color looked pretty cool.
