Krylon Fusion to the rescue.
Just make sure to remove all the rubbery gunk first. Brake fluid works pretty well at loosening the rubbery stuff. Wet sand the bezel down to 600grit & wash a couple times, then wipe down with rubbing alcohol & let dry before you start painting.
I sprayed about 5 or 6 coats of satin fusion on mine topped off with 5 or 6 coats of regular krylon satin clear... but mine still looks pretty shiny.
A light wet sanding with 600 - 800 grit between coats & wash/wipe down with alcohol before each coat.
