Center Console Question
This is probably a stupid question, but...
Will an equipment console from a Crown Vic (01) fit my Ranger (also 01)? I'm looking at one of those Jotto Desk kits to mount my radio equipment in and it LOOKS like it will fit if I remove the airbag switch and storage box, but I don't want to spend the $$$ just to find out I can't use it.

Re: Center Console Question
U got dimensions on it?
Depending on how wide it is it could work.

Re: Center Console Question
Thats something you need the dimensions on and then measure up your truck. I dont think we could give a good yes or no without that

Yeah, I was just hoping someone had some experience mounting a center console or some input that would help. I still plan to measure it out, I guess I'm just looking for any kind of "reassurance" from other's who might know more than I.
Measure twice, cut once.

Re: Center Console Question
Thats right. Just post the measurements and maybe a pic of the actual console and go from there

Re: Center Console Question
it would be cheaper just to measure your truck and build your own

Re: Center Console Question
Yeah, it would. And that way I could upholster it in carpet that matches my interior and have it fitted to my specific equipment instead of having to make the factory faceplates work.
I think this is the way I'll go. It will probably look better and help avoid the wanna-be cop look. (I have some other mods in mind, like Unity spotlights and a laptop mount, so any way of minimizing the LE look is going to be needed.)
Also, if I build it myself, I can add some hidden storage and a removable access panel so I can get to the wiring inside without having to remove the radios... Man, the ideas are really flowing now!

Re: Center Console Question
Rather than mess with fitting one of those in, I'd build one to fit your individual needs.
There's no limit to what you could do or add to it... 12v outlets, storage, usb ports, switch panels, cb radio mount...
I would post some pics of my hidden wiring under my EXPO console, but it's such a tangled mess, I'm ashamed for anyone to see it right now. Basically, I've got everything running below the console storage areas, relays, wiring, fuse holders, power/ground distribution for all the relays, etc. Sure beats removing the radio bezel every time I want to change something.
