Default Need some advice about interior trim for dash pocket

OK,

Ive recently installed a car stereo and the kit seems to sag. I am aware that a LOT of kits sag like this, so I dont think its my fault for installing it wrong.

Anyways, I was wanting to put some type of stick on trim, or something around the outside of the pocket underneath the stereo so it wont look "warped" or "saggy" like it does now. The mystery trim would have to be kind of flexible to accommodate the horizontal curveyness of the kit.

At first it didn't bother me, but now it does.

Does anyone have any ideas what I could put here?? (in the 2nd pic, look at the red circle I drew to show you where I want to put it). Some type of black trim? What kind of trim, etc etc.

Here are the pics.

Pic 1: How it looks

Pic 2: The red ring I drew is where I would want the mystery "trim" to go so It dont looked warped or saggy from the outside view.

you could try hot gluing a plate over it to match the bezel

Thats a great idea. But what kind of plate?

----------

Wonder if I could slip a small piece of 3M tape over the pocket and in between the kit? I wonder if it would hold well?

How about a textured ABS panel like mine?

New one:

Old one:

My dash kit had a little bow in it, but not quite as bad as yours does.

I can make pretty much any size - top or bottom mount. I used some heavy duty double sided 3m or Scotch brand exterior foam tape for mine (same tape I use for my Ford ovals) and it sticks REALLY well (just clean everything with alcohol before installing).

It's about 1/8" thick so it's quite sturdy yet it's not too bad to cut if you want to add switches, voltmeter, temp gauge, etc.

Drop me a PM if you'd like one.

BTW, I almost got that head unit too
