Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Hey Troy I cant seem to find an answer with the airbag wiring, I was told that I could plug my 2 wire airbag for the seat either way, would make sens since both wire are yellow on the escape seat but Im still not sure.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
i wouldn't advise plugging in one air bag in a different vehicle. sometimes they take different ohms, and could deploy as soon as the system is turned on. i don't have any experience with actually doing something like that, but most srs systems are pretty touchy.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
I tried to read all 20 pages but now my head hurts so I apologize for asking a question that might have already been answered. I did read the first post so I am pretty sure they don't fit but will the seats out of a 99 Cougar work? I know they aren't a direct bolt in but does anyone have any idea if they would be a PITA to mod to fit? Have a chance at some pristine ones if they aren't too much work.
Thanks and again, apologies.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Well depending on the rails you might just be able to drills the rivet (It doesent look like a normal rivet) out and swap them for your 4 corner brackets from your ranger seats. Im sure someone else is familiar with the Cougar seats but im not, so my best suggestion to you would be to remove your seat and take some measurement on the rails or if you can do that while there in. I had to do miminal adjustments to do on the Escape seats im working on now, I personnally used some grade 8 bolts but when Im happy with everything Im gonna get them welded to be safe.

Okay, so I have a 02 single cab with a 60/40 seat. I want to put buckets in it, are there any direct swaps? Or what would be the simplest swap?

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
I know this is an old thread, just hoping someone with some answers is still monitoring it and can help. I am new to this forum and just purchased a 2003 ranger ex cab with 60/40 seat. Prior owner must have smoked 5 packs a day sitting in the truck. I have removed and washed the carpet and have taken the headliner out to have it replaced. Went to jy and found some seats from a Tempo. Nice and no odor. Got tracks from ford explorer(drivers side) and exp sport(passenger side). I am going to have to enlarge a couple of holes to make it line up correctly, but I have another issue.....how are you mounting the seatbelt to the side of the seat? I sure don't want the dinging all the time so I assume I will have use mine from the old seat. Also, I am assuming that by using seats from a 98 tempo, I am losing the passenger air bag. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Anyone know of or have swapped the 60/40 seats with some full bench seats? Ive got a 96 xlt standard cab ranger i want to put a bench seat in but dont know if the length or the size differentiate enough to make a difference

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Ok so here's the deal... I have read thru all 20 pages. And the questions were bounced all over the place. So I'm a little bit more educated than when I started. However... I just want to be certain since I have already spent 300 bucks on a bucket seat set out of a ranger and after spending alot of effort cleaning them... they didn't fit. I have a 97 Ranger Reg Cab w/ a bench seat. If I want to put buckets in it I have to find a reg cab with buckets or atleast its tracks? Thanks.

From my understanding, you have to attach the tracks from your current seats to the seats from another applicable vehicle. I think there are rivets on them.

Then you also have to get seat tracks. You can try online. Or go and get another pair of 60/40 bench seats and get those tracks. I'm just going to find another passenger seat and use it as my drivers seat.

Every thing bolted up i had to tap 4 new holes, but the holes were existing just plugged. Swapped seat belts in the seat

I'm just going to take the drivers seat out and put another passenger in. The handle will be backwards but oh well.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Okay, so I have been searching for options for my 1996 Ranger standard cab with a full bench seat.
I "know" that standard cab tracks are needed, and that 1993-1997 will definately work. However, Corbeau lists seat brackets D1044T (driver) and D1045T (passenger) as fitting "RANGER STD CAB 93-01" indicating to me that seat tracks from 1993-2001 will fit. Seems odd, as the cab changed in 1998. Maybe the seat tracks are compatible all the way to the end of the Ranger run???
If I find a set for any post 1993, I'm going to snag them and measure them.
I did measure the floor of a standard cab 1993 that had already had everything pirated out. Didn't think to take a picture (duh). Obviously, this isn't to scale, and the front bolts go into the bracket at an angle (the bracket "wraps" around the front of the raised portion in the floor). I measured from the top of than angle in the floor to the center of the bolt holes in the floor for the rear bolts.
I'm headed out to a couple of different yards today. Bringing a camera along too, just in case I find another bare floor to take pics of. If I find explorer seats that are in decent condition, I'll grab them. Otherwise, I'll make a template and head to the first yard I went to yesterday. They had a ton of late-model Escorts with decent seats, and I'd like to see how much work they'll need.
