yeah. some explorers have airbags, but that's not a system to start messing around with.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Hi i just purchased a 93 Ranger and its a little rough but you gotta start somewhere. I had a 2000 ford escort zx2 that died on me and thats why i bought the truck. Im parting the car out but i wanted to know if the front driver and passenger seat would fit on to the rails of the seats that are already in the truck? i know that the older escort models fit but i didn't know if the zx2 models would. Thanks.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
I'm so lost. =( I went to my JY today, and holy hell its amazing. there were a solid 10 explorers between 95-01. some looking better than others. one ollllld model mustang. the old small square bodys. i think late 80s early 90s. had good buckets. and I like the low cut ones, not really like a captains chair style. would like to eliminate headrests. they had one 91 excort that wasnt shabby.
my main question, is for my situation. 98 reg cab 60/40. Can i do those mustang buckets or escort buckets straight swap? and would I need THEIR rails or MY rails? either way the seats would need to be redone. just looking for framing.
second option:: they had so many 97-01 ford escorts with solid seats more than explorers. and i really like the seats. just dont know if they'd work. wondering what i'd need to do, if anyone knows... you'd be my hero
OR could I take my 60/40 and have the top cut down and cut into buckets? idk if thats possible.
it was a hell of a morning. thats for sure. got myself a complete center console minus the lid, mustang dome light, and two interior trim pieces (the black trim that goes around the door handle) all for ab 40 bucks. cant beat it. Now I just gotta do bucket seats so I can put it in! lol.
help would be so appreciated. haha.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
There is NO reasonable way (in ?$&@) to make seats from a 2003 explorer to fit a 2004 super cab. There is NOTHING similar between the two. Volvo has the most comfortable seats in the world. You'd be better off getting those to fit.
If anyone wants some real nice black leather explorer seats let me know.

And why can you not make them fit even if you have to make custom rails. Same as a Volvo im pretty sure they went a direct swap and also if your trying to sale put in the forsale area not the threads.

your best option for running explorer or mustang buckets would be to find a set of 93-7 reg cab seat tracks. they will bolt directly to the explorer or mustang buckets. they should be close to lining up to your floor. maybe some minor trimming of holes.
i think someone on here used their 98+ rails, but i'm unsure what they did.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
a ton of work. first off, ext cab seat tracks won't work well in a reg cab. they are different sizes. you would be better off finding some from a reg cab.
from there, then you have to drill 4 holes in the floor. two per seat on the inside rails.

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
If you don't mind spending the cash ,
SummitRacing.com has seat rails that will allow
You to almost any seats you want!
Also,if you can weld, you can bow torch
Any seat rails off and weld them to your
Original ones that you got.
It's a hassle , but it CAN be done.
I welded 95 Mustang buckets to my original
Rails and love them !

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Well I was looking for a more bolt in solution.....i found some b2 buckets @ jy but someone cut the roof off it...who knows how much mold is in the foam...they will deffo need recovering too....i guess I'll just have to bring a set of my rails to the jy and just go researching...flip a few seats over n see what will fit...ill take .notes and post em here for any other Gen 1 owners...

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger
Gary, anything on the list above will bolt directly into your truck. bII, mustang, explorer, etc. i just recovered a set of bII seats and put them in my 95 reg cab. Best seat I have had yet. Love them!
