Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger

should be able to walk out around $100 if you find leather...cheaper if you find cloth.

their website is capefearpicknpull.com

if you decide to come this way, let me know before hand and i'll go and make sure there is something good.

They fit almost perfectly - you will just need to enlarge one bolt hole on the seat - not sure why Explorers use different size bolts - but I just used a large drill bit and drilled out the hole. Take me about 5 min to do both seats. Once you do that, they will bolt right in.

The hard part was running power to operate the electrical seat movement. That took a little trial and error, but I got it all done in an afternoon. I haven't hooked up the seat heaters - I may do that when it gets colder, but maybe not. Since the controls are actually in the seat and not in the dash like some Explorers, it is just a couple of wires to get power to the seat.

Hope this helps - now I just need to find a nice console to put between the seats.

I suggest a SmittyBuilt center console.
I picked one up from a jeep and it looks great, and locks up!

Great suggestion. Hard to find good jeeps out here - they are pretty picked over by the time I get to them. Here in SoCal, there are a lot of off-roaders, so hard to find good parts on Jeeps or any 4X4. I did find one in an Explorer, just needs to be cleaned up and installed now.

I like your signature. ;)

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger

I have read through all 12 pages and am a bit confused.
I have a 2001 extended cab with 60/40 seats. I would prefer leather bucket seats from an explorer.
If i have this right, i can swap explorer 1998 through 2001. The exception is that I may also use 2002 and 2003 seats from an explorer sport track.
I have my eye on a set of seats from a 2002 4 door explorer.
This is a NO GO correct?
Thanks

Hope you can make that console work for you!
I've seen others with explorer consoles, an they look sweet!

95-01 explorer (all models) are the ones you want. 02-3(4?) explorer sports/sport tracs will work as well. 02+ explorers (non sports) won't work.

Thanks for your response.
What years do the seat belt catch, attach to the side of the seat, not the floor?

Re: Seats that fit in the Ranger

you won't be able to use the explorer seat belts from any year. the bracket they use can be unbolted and discarded. you will need to reuse your ranger seat belt/pretensioner and mount them to the side of the explorer seats. right under the hinge point, on the inside of the seat, there are a couple extra holes where you can mount them.

I read through the posts and searched for any other answer on the site, and I just want to make sure.
I have a 1993 Ford Ranger, XLT Extended Cab. I am heading out the JY this weekend and want to swap out the 60/40 seats for anything new, preferably buckets. What will fit in directly, or what will fit with a swap with the brackets?

I have a 91 Regular cab with 60/40 seats and I am desperate for replacement seats and tracks. Please advise! What seats can I use?

Would these seats work? http://savannah.craigslist.org/pts/3169425820.html, Ive got a 97 B2300 std cab bench seat. So id have to get tracks out of a ranger same year with buckets or 60/40 right?!

anything on the list on the first page of this thread will bolt directly to your seat tracks.

anything from the list posted on the first page. as for new tracks, 83-92 should work. if you can't find any, let me know. the local pick-n-pull has tons of these trucks.

you are correct. they will work as long as you get a set of 93-7 reg cab ranger buckets/60/40 seat tracks.

Will seats from a 95 explorer fit and work in my 99 ranger ext cab 2 door?
Got a guy down the road that wants $40 for both seats.

EDIT:

They are powered seats.... if that makes a difference??
how hard would that be to rig up in my truck?

he also has a center console i may snag up!! :)
