odometer help

So as some of you know I put my cluster set with tach into my dads ranger with non-tach. He said today that his odemeter is not working. The speedo is working fine. I did the battery method to remove the needles and keept his odometer with his truck. Any idea of why the odemeter is not working...?

I saw the thread with the instructions on how to swap the ODO. It looks like a bunch of tiny gears, perhaps one of the gears is not installed properly? Did it work before? If so, could it have come loose?

I didnt take the gears apart, I just unbolted it from my dads original cluster and put into mine, I just followed the battery thing to remove and reset the needle......I dont know of why its not working, its all electronic...... IDK?

Maybe one of the pins is not seated all the way in, I'll have to take it back out and look it over

if it works in one truck and not another has to be sensor related.

yeah, Im going to check the connections, put my odometer in his truck, see if it works. put his odometer in my truck see if it works, then take that data and see where it leads.

got the problem licked. Aparantley the gauge was not pushed in all the way. I put my odometer in my dads to see if all the wiring was working, it worked. I put his back in and it worked to. Sorry to waste thread space guys, I guess I should have jsut looked into it first!
