Default Door Panels

Okay, so i just picked up a set of door panels for free form a friend of mine.

The door panels are the style with the map pockets on the bottom: (style below, not the ones i have)

I like the door panels, and will end up painting them to match my planned interior color ( black) but I was wondering if anyone knows the best way to get rid of the shag carpeting on the bottom of it out?

Also how to remove the bigger portion of the armrest to the left of the door handle is?

Thanks

It should pop off...might be a screw holding it after you pop all the other pieces off....as for the shag, if I was you, Id recover it with another black fabric.

Use a dremel to remove the overlap off those. Then use self tapping screws to reattach or use that plastic weld glue stuff.

the carpet at the bottom is a real PITA to get off. and if you do get it off, the glue residue is nearly impossible to get off.

when i do them with carpet, i glue a large piece down, then trim to fit. with vinyl, when you cut the edge, you can see the backing. you need to tuck the cut edge down inside the groove so you don't see the raw edge of the material.
