Default Need help bleeding brakes, 1998 Ranger

I have a 1998 4-liter, 2-wheel drive Ford Ranger. It has rear ABS, and the main line to the rear axle, the steel line, has rusted out, near the back wheels. Can anyone tell me if there's any special procedure to bleed the brakes? I know how to bleed brakes, but I've never had to deal with ABS.

Also, can anybody tell me what exactly this is?

That's your HCU or ABS pump. It turns braking pressure on/off. (in effect)

You don't want air to get in there so never take a line off of it if you can help it. If air does get in there, brake bleeding will require special equipment to slowly cycle the pump. But if the lines you replace are from the rear brakes you should be able to bleed using the usual routine. I replaced my bleeder valves with speed bleeders, which makes it even simpler.
