so in my 99 ranger with the 60/40 split bench seat it has the fold down arm rest, well after 115k miles on her the pad in the lid of the console is pretty beat, the material covering it is fine but the pad has a hole from elbows leaning on it, anyone know how to fix this or would it be easier to find a new one?

Thats a common issue, your best bet is trying to find a new one. I will keep an eye out for you at the junkyard, but check ebay as well
