04 turn signal switch in an 01?
I recently got an 04 turn signal switch, I was told it would be a direct swap into an 01. When I got mine apart, it had different plugs in the back. Is there anyway to mod this turn signal switch to work or am I SOL?

Are you talking 'bout the multifunction switch?
I thought most of them were interchangeable...

Re: 04 turn signal switch in an 01?
there was a lot of wiring changes in 04. would probably be better to find one 03 or older. is there something special about the 04?

Yeah, they switch has an upward bend, The 01-03 models have a downward bend and I keep hitting my leg on it.

not to threadjack but i have an 08 ranger and i would prefer to have the older ones (01-03 apparentlt) that are angled down. do i need to get a new connecter and repin it? or is it a direct swap?

If I figure it out and get the plugs and the wiring down and figure out what re-pin means I'll give you my old one

Re: 04 turn signal switch in an 01?
pull the pins out of the connector and put them in new locations depending on where you need them.

swap the new switch's wiring pins into your older switch's wiring plug in their respective positions.

Re: 04 turn signal switch in an 01?
its surprisingly easy.. easier than an ohc or the stupid white face cluster that i still havent done yet.lol
all you have to do is find out what wires are what on the new switch and BAM swap them out to your old plug.
