Default How to swap seat tracks?

Just got some leather bucket seats from a ford explorer Eddie Bauer, but the seat track locations dont match my bolt holes. The tracks on the old seat seam to be riveted on and I dont know how to get them off.

There are 4 bolts see the 2 circled in red those are the front then there are 2 in the back

The seat track holes might not match up to the other seat but you can drill and tap some new holes

You could, but if you got in an accident the seat mounts would tear out of the sheet metal. You need to re-enforce the area like the factory setup to be safe.

i just got some explorer buckets 02' to replace my 00 ranger 60/40's and the explorer brackets are too large. Are you saying I just have to take the tracks off of the 60/40'2 and mount them to thenew buckets? my only fear is the current Ranger is manual and the new Explorer buckets are electric, does this make a differance? Please help I really want to use these new Leather buckets.

but then don't you have to disassemble the backrest off as well? the tracks are tied into the backrest.

in short, there is no simple way to put them in a 98+ reg cab.

95-01 explorer seats (tracks) will bolt into an ext cab without any modifications. some people have had a slight issue on the driver's seat on the inside track with a wiring junction on the floor, but others haven't.

That makes sense the Esplorer seats are 02'. Any insight to modify track for them?

Drill out the 4 seat posts. That's what I did and have done on 3 sets of expo seats and they bolted right in.
