Alright, I have a 97 steppie. It has a passenger side bucket seat but the drivers side has this dumb extension off it for a middle passenger. Now I am just wondering, is there a ranger seat that is just the bucket for the drivers side? It doesn't need to be out of a ranger. Just something compatible.

You can get explorer buckets, they are pretty much a direct swap. Ranger have buckets as well, they are a little harder to find

Do I need the same year or just an exploder?

Nope, just grab the seats, swap seat brackets if necessary

youll also want to grab the center console. That wont be a bolt in, youll have to bolt it down or use some self tappers.

I did this swap on my '97. make sure you get the seats out of post '98, there more comfy in my opinion

i just cut the extension middle seat off with a grinder. just pulle the fabric up then cut off the foam then grinded the braceing off. then just redid all of it. i ended up with a while in the backrest because the bolt for the folding back wouldnt come off. i need to get seat covers . will an explorer center consle fit.

this will work for any 97 and older. mustang buckets are the way to go!

just my opinion but i dont think your going to enjoy those 2 12's right in the middle, thats alot of bass in a small cab and for it to be right next to you instead of behind you is going to be a bit of overkill, maybe just something to think about...

Clinton, what do you mean by seat brackets? Are you talking about the bottom frame with the tracks? I tried to remove the seats from those bottom frames by unbolting a few screws but could not; the seats got loose a bit but did not come off.

i agree. maybe there no such thing as too much bass, but closer proximity can't be good for your ears. you might want'em to work later in life with out constant ringing.

the box fits in my friends and he has pretty much the same truck. and guys my truck is a party mobile, so i dont blast music when im driving.
