Default 94 Ranger armrest

Greetings! Just purchased my first Ford Ranger for my son. 94 but in really good shape. The center armrest leans to the side. I can see a bolt to remove the armrest so once thats removed is there a bushing that needs replacing?

Thank you in advance!

In my 01 there is no bushings only 2 Torx and a metal stud that holds it level in the up or down position. Not shure if there similar though.

I have the same problem. Tomorro I will be getting my interior detailed. When that is finished I will be taking the seat apart to see what needs to be done to level the armrest. I will let you know what I find.

I tried to find a new armrest for my "94" Ranger and I could not find any to purchase. If you have any ideas about getting a new armrest, I would be gratefull to know where to get it...

Ok...I have the details of the leaning armrest.....My armrest also has one bolt ("94" supercab) I took the trimcover off and I also took the backrest foam off to get a good look at the armrest attachment point. I found that on the backrest metal frame there is a threaded bushing about 3/4" long that is spot welded to the frame. This is the perpendicular bushing that receives the torx bolt in the armrest. The three point spot weld that is holding this bushing perpendicular has let loose causing the bushing to be out of position. Because of the weight of the armrest it will lean down towards the passenger door.
I am going to bring the backrest metal frame and bushing to a welder because I do not have a welding machine to do this job.

I hope this helps

Thumbs up Re: 94 Ranger armrest

The fix does work...The threaded bushing is only tack welded in 3 places.
I put a good weld on it from the inside of the frame. I reassembled everything and it is better than when it was new.

Reviving this ancient thread because it was the #3 search result on Google when I was researching how to fix the armrest in my 1994 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab.

The bolt holding the armrest on is a T50 torx. I removed it, cleaned it up, and put some medium thread lock on it. I then tightened it up real snug and it seems to have fixed the problem.
