Default instrument cluster swap

Perhaps this subject is being repeated again and again, but I still wonder: If the non tachometer instrument cluster on a 1998 Ranger 3.0 automatic is replaced with a 1998 - 2000 cluster with tach, will it work without any further modification? Scruffybeast

The 98~2000 tach cluster should be plug and play for all 98~2000 Rangers except the EV.
