Default turn signal question

i did a quick search with no luck finding my answers, so my question is this. i dont like how low my turn signal/windshield wiper switch is, i think it would look and feel better up higher, anyone doing anything with that? i feel like most cars have the arm that goes strait out instead of bending down... can anyone point me in the right direction, or am i gonna be doing a lot of custom fab work?

Yeah it is weird, on 2004+ Rangers it goes upward!

I was just looking @ this to..... It looks like F-150/250/350 signal switches curve towards the driver or up, Crown-vic/towncar look straight & mustang ones from a few years ago (late 90's) look straight but shorter... The part that mounts to the column looks the same on all of these. If anyone has tried one of these switches, it'd be cool to hear about it. I have some free time right now (long weekend,) so I'm thinkin' I'm gonna check them out at a few pic n pulls today.... I'll report back what I find.

Just got these @ the junk yard today. The straight one is from a '98 Taurus & the one that curves up is from a 2000+ Taurus. I wasn't sure which I would prefer, so I got both. The end is also smooth, so it would be easier to keep clean. Now i just have to pull mine out & see if these fit... I also grabbed the tilt lever 'cause it matched the signal one & it is smaller than the one on our trucks.

Unfortunately this will not be plug 'n' play because there are two pins that are different on the top plug. The top pic is the Ranger switch and the bottom pic is the Taurus switch.

I'm going to re-pin the top connector & use the Taurus connector. Luckily, I grabbed a pigtail from the Taurus.

Did you ever get this working?

I'm a big guy and I keep hitting the switch with my knee in my 2000 Ford Ranger. It's a standard cab and my seat is all the way back. This is the only thing so far that I hate about this truck.

I don't get it either.
Make a left turn and I bump it with my leg.
Don't recall it being shaped that way on the '96 I owned.

Makes no sense at all to have it shaped the way it is.

(Didn't notice I was quoting such an old post.)
