Air Conditioning Problems Only Full Heat or Full Cold

My a/c works great only in the MAX AC setting regardless of where the cold/hot knob is set at. If the switch is in any other place besides MAX AC if will blow hot air.

The HOT/COLD knob doesn't seem to do anything.

eh a quick search using google landed me with the answer I'm looking for. It can either be the blend door is broken or the blend door actuator is broken.

If I had seen this earlier, I would have told you the same thing, the max ac system uses different ducts back there, which is why it still works. its pretty well documented out there, explorers are the same way. good luck

check the resistor. same thing happened in my dads silverado. ordered a new resistor from a one of our supply shops at my work and for 40 bucks and about an hour of labor ac and heat worked like new
