Hey guys Ive been looking for a good set of seat covers and I cant find a good set under 200 bucks. So I was watching trucks the other day and had this paint and used it on seats. Anyone ever try it? Hows it hold up? Thanks

Ive used it before but never on seats. It is good stuff, I used it on carpet/plastics before, worked pretty good

if you like crusty, splotchy material, go for it! there are reasons why you can't find GOOD covers for CHEAP. Cheap does not equal good. i sold a set of seats to a guy who wanted to put in his car. he used some dye, decided he didn't like them "painted" and gave them back. I immediately just dropped them in the dumpster. save your money and buy the covers. you'll be much more happy.

Anymore opinions on this stuff? Some say it's great some say its terrible....I don't really know how it'd get crusty since its actually a dye called paint

I've used it on my armrests (vinyl) and it looks awesome. Dries to a glossy finish. Pretty durable, unless you gouge it with a screwdriver like I did.

I thought about painting the gray carpet sections on my door panels with it, but I'll probably end up putting new black carpet on there.

anytime you put dye, paint, whatever on a cloth, it will become crusty. when paint drys, it drys hard, correct? hard meaning no flex. cloth is soft, meaning it will move and flex. see what i'm saying?

dont do it! it may be ok on vinyl but not on cloth and you can tell its been "painted". just save the money and get the quality seat cover

I used it on my old Miata cloth seats and even though they looked really good, they did become "crispy" to the touch. I would not use it unless you are okay with the fabric becoming hard.
