ive wrecked it twice in the front end and the bag has never deployed, and it was never wrecked previously before i got it.

just because it's been through two front end impacts doesn't mean the bag will deploy. it all depends on angle and speed. if they were severe front end impacts and they didn't deploy, i would still say they have been deployed previously and never replaced. all rangers 95+ got a bag in the steering wheel. it was mandatory for 95-96+ to have drivers side.

well i tboned a honda going about 20 and nothing, and the impact was enough to give me a bruise from my seatbelt. i know the original owner, it was never wrecked before i got it.

most need 35mph or so to pop. would suck if any little bump in a parking lot would set them off....

Here's a list of all the features my truck dosent have... 4 wheel abs airbags crush points in the body and nor colapsable points on my frame. Tilt steering wheel cruise control it didn't have ac I just retrofitted it on there from my parts truck oh and I guess I gotta wait till next weekend to put the seats and center console in because aperantly a federal holiday isn't a good enough reason for school to be cancled

I need to get a explorer console. Don't have the time to search jy . Even if they had it, what tools would I need to take it out the Explorer?

Its a little time consuming. I pulled mine in the middle of august lol but now it wont be bad for you. I know theres a bunch of 7mm and 8mm bolts. couple phillips head screws and I think thats it

lol yea it is time consuming, several parts you have to take apart just to get to the bottom screws. i took one apart at the yard and couldnt find the last damn bolt to get it out, so i found another expo that had a trashed console (this was during cash for clunkers when there was MILLIONS of expos at the yards around here) and tore that console apart and figured it out

TURDFX4...was it hard to find an ALL BLACK console? I've been looking and had no luck so far. My interior is all black like yours and I don't want to get a different color...or paint one in fear of totally f'n it up.

They dont make a black one, you haved to paint it.

my original shorty in my truck had broke, they were little tiny tack welded bolts to the floor, they had rusted off. I just drilled right thru the floor and use 3/8 SS cairage bolts, I was working by myself and had no way to hold a wrench atop while I was underneath!

I recently put in a full length console, I just welded the exploder bracket mount right to the floor.

Im sure you have got your console in by now tho, but maybe some one else wants to and will find this thread!

i actually just got the seats in about two weeks ago and i havent gotten the console in (got a problem with the door sills several of the bolts are stripped so i cant get them off and i cant take the carpet up with those on still)

to get the sills out, put a screwdriver under it near the screws, and put a little pressure on them. that should help them come out.
