Air bag switch??

Hey guys, I have a 99 Ranger Sport and the guy who owned it before me took out the ashtray and the passenger airbag switch.

Is it hard to hook back up the passenger airbag switch?
I need it to turn off when my one of my daughters has to ride with me occasionally.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

It should just plug in and bolt on if I remember correctly

I wonder where I should get one.
Just wish he would of kept the parts....
So, I'm guessing I need the ashtray, the switch, and the bracket that holds them on?
Plus, I have no way of knowing if it's on or off now.

Yeah you really dont know if its on or off huh. Best bet is a junkyard, I have seen plenty out there myself so that way when you pull the part you see how to put it back on and where everything goes. And if you break it, no big deal, go to the next one and try again.

Well I have a few around me. Next time I go I can look for you if you'd like. I have aswitch cover up for grabs but no switch here is my ebay listing

The covers are hard to come by but the switches arent. If this one on ebay doesnt sell, I will put it aside and I'll look for the actual switch at the yard on my next run. The switch cover I have has a cubby, no ash tray. Check the classifieds though, member Zak873(I think thats it) is parting out a 2000 xlt

I noticed yours looks like it may not fit a 99'.

I believe the SRS system should be indicating a problem and illuminate the airbag light if that switch is missing.

and that code should be a 2 then a 7

that cover should fit your 99

the best way to get a switch is from a JY, i went to the stealership to look for one when i had my 01, and they wanted to charge me an arm and a leg for one, i ended up getting one free from a JY thru a family hookup

The switch was jammed into the dash/bezel area!
I guess I only need the cover then!
I wonder how you turn the airbag off then?

I have one i was just going to list for sale lol

I have a cubby one if you still have the mounting bracket bolted on there or i have an ashtray one with the bracket but there are a few holes drilled into it because thats where i mounted my cb radio

not sure if I have the mounting bracket to tell you the truth.
I don't know what it looks like.
It just has the open gap with bolt holes around the exterior. Is that it?
