Seat Swapping in a 97
Hi all,
I see there are a several seat threads here but none I found said specifically what I needed/answered my questions. I'm new to ranger ownership so I'm not up to speed on all the things that can be done to rangers, yet. It does seem 97 is the cut-off for many things that can swap easily between Ford Motor models.
I thought I saw a link to another site with seat swap ideas but can't find it again so any help will be appreciated.
I have a 60/40 split bench with a completely trashed folding armrest/storage unit which are useless to me, I'll never have more than one passenger in my ranger, most likely only Hershey my Chocolate lab, so I'd like to swap out my seats for some lower mileage (<120K) and more comfortable seats. Power options wouldn't be unwelcome either. I have heard of Mustang GT seats working but I've also heard good luck finding them. I'm also not in a hurry so if I can make a shopping list for my junk yard wanderings that would be helpful.
This truck is my daily driver while I work on a restoration project truck, an '89 B2200, hence my trying to shorten the search for possible seats by asking you guys.
So my question: What relatively available bucket seats can I swap out for my 97 ranger split bench seats with little or no monkeying around? I'm not afraid of work but I'm not looking for another involved project either - like the "turn a bench seat into a bucket seat" post here (An ingenious idea).
Any help would be much appreciated. This site has been great for help on mechanicals I hope the same for my seat search.
Thanks in advance,
