Default Painting Armrests

Has anyone painted the armrests on the doors and not have the paint come off. Mine are grey right now and I wanna paint them black. If you've done it what kind of paint did you use and where'd you get it. I'm guessing I need to use a special flexible interior paint.

Also I was wondering how you make the gauge cluster white. Is the only way to get an entire Explorer Sport cluster?

I painted my gray armrests black last year or so.

I tried krylon fusion, but even after 6 months, it was still tacky.
Found some Duplicolor fabric & vinyl paint, sprayed on a few coats & they look like new & dried in a day.
Best $10 I spent in a long time.

Here's what they look like now:

i've wrapped several sets of them. lasts longer than paint, plus it pulls the bottom back together so it doesn't bulge out.

Hey!
I was just thinking about changing my gray door panel carpet to black.
Damn, another mod to add to the list now.

Any chance you can make a "How To" on wrapping them?

im def going to wrap mine today if i remember to pick up some vinyl. the grey shit looks terrible because its bulging out. Im definitely going to use a heat gun to make the stretching of the vinyl easier

lots and lots of heat. almost to the point of the vinyl being a liquid.
