Default Cruise Pod/Headlight Switch

My on/off pod for the cruise control hasn't lit up for about 6 months now. I've debated trying to convert to LED but it just seems like a hassle to me and I have no idea how to do that kind of stuff in the first place. Anyway, the other morning the on/off switch was lit up while I was driving to work! I almost pulled over to slap myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming while driving. Now it's not working again. I read here that you can't just get a bulb you have to convert or replace the entire switch. However I found on an Exploder site that you can order the bulbs. Part # E5RY-13466-BA
(http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/11...ight-bulb.html) Does anyone here know if this is true because I've spent the last hour trying to find out online checking different distributors and I can' t find one that lists that OEM bulb. I guess the next logical thing to do is call a dealership in the morning.

My headlight switch is also burned out/not lighting up. It's just the small green light on the switch itself that shows which position it's in. Does anyone know if it's wired into the cruise switch? I'm thinking it may be a wiring problem. (sorry for the ramble)

No its not wired together. The headlight switch stays illuminated all the time and just burned out. Hook up with buggman, for 8.00 you get an led your choice of color. I got green and it looks awesome. My on/off didn't work either. I went to a junkyard and just swapped it out. I have an extra one if you need it.

Yeah man,
Shoot me a PM & I can hook you up with LED mods for the headlight, 4x4 & fog switches.
Easy mod on your end.
Pain in the butt mod on my end.

Hey guys, thanks to both of you for the offers. For some reason the on/off has been working for three days straight now so for now I'm going to just let it go and see what happens. as far as the headlight switch I'm still undecided on what i want to do. but again, thank you both for the offers to help out but i'm just going to let it sit for now. I don't have the time to do any work on the truck. My son, wife and second job are eating at my Ranger time.

Hi,
Is only the left "on/off" cruise control pod supposed to illuminate on the 2001 Ranger Edge?

The left pod was illuminating intermittently and the cover was wearing out so I replaced both left and right cruise control pods using the original wiring harness. After reassembling and road testing, only the left "on/off" pod illuminated, not the right "resume/set & accel/coast" pod.

So, I replaced the old wiring harness with the new wiring harness and after road testing, the right pod still does not illuminate. Everything else working fine.

I disassembled the old right side pod and confirmed it contains a light bulb with green plastic cover.

Any help on how to fix or confirm this is normal would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and assistance.
