Default more heating problems

i have a 2005 ranger 3.0, automatic with 87000 miles. this morning i turned on the heat the blower works, but the air doesn't warm up. the coolant level is correct it moves from panel to floor etc. like it is supposed to do, the heater hoses are hot but the valve in the return hose does not seem to move at all when you adjust the controls. if anyone could help i would appreciate it. thanks

Disconnect the vacuum line going to the valve. If the valve doesn't open, then it is probably jammed.

If you put your thumb over the vacuum line, do you feel vacuum (in either MAX AC or a normal setting?)

Are you saying the valve is working or the vacuum line is working? If the valve is working and open, then the heater core must be clogged.

can't you disconnect vacume lines poke a screwdriver in the valve to make it stay stuck open i did it once on a 77' plymouth fury till i figured out, you could try this pull control panel and look to see if the heat/cold lever is broken behind it or loose in slack and adjust it or exchange panel if unadjustable yea man pull that panel and look really good at connections or cables anything loose that may give you better insite to your problem fallow cables into dash some because sometimes they are zip tied or fastened to underdash framework and become disconnected n loose giveing to much slack if electrice controls check if fts bad to narrow it down to a fi.

Wow that made me dizzy.

The valve has a spring that defaults it to open. Applying vacuum shuts the valve. This only happens in MAX AC and OFF. Therefore, disconnecting the vacuum line will make the valve open as long as it isn't jammed or broken. Poking it with a screwdriver isn't going to help, since vacuum applies suction, not pressure. The blend door on the heater box will also fail to full heat if it breaks.

Anyway, back to earth... Did you put that new valve in place? I'm a little unclear on what you actually did and tested so far.

man quit trying to attack someone your jealous about cuz apperently ive seen no pics that you even own a ranger because im the only person you always post dirogitory posts after me get a life alien invader lmao.XD.

that is what i ment to force open valve or keep closed you usually can narrow down heating problems this way but taking out the dash panel is a first thing must checking connections anything broke or even loose creates no or little heat or bad fan or hose blockage or wose heater core is bad worse case its all simple cut and dry stuff anyvehicle.
