Painting Dash

Anybody know of the steps involved in painting the dash, any prepping involved?? Mine is Gray, I would like to paint it Black, with the air vents red.

remove the whole damn thing, which takes about 4 hours lol, unless you want to gut your interior and mask off the windows and spray bomb it still IN the truck

Use Krylon Fusion paint; It adheres to plastic with little to no prep involved. Just clean and spray.

best cleaner i used is windex, you need an ammonia based cleaner

You could mask off everything with tape and drop clothes or something that the paint wont soak through

I think you should, especially if you use Krylon fusion, it dries in about 10-15 mins and I usually do 3 coats. It goes by quick so that way it wont turn into a huge project. Just tape off, use a razor to get exacts on the taping and you should be good. Start with light coats so it wont run because you will be painting at awkward angles.

i would suggest u take everything out... tedious of course but at least you'll make sure ur gonna avoid getting paint anywhere else on ur car... also, ive never used kyrlon fusion... but i would personally sand it first just to make sure the paint sticks... i would hate having to re-do the whole process if the paint starts to peel

krylon doesnt peel, i didnt sand both of my 4x4 valances and ive run both over curbs and into bushes and shit parking and it doesnt even scratch lol

use duplicolor "vinyl and fabric " ... i use it for my ranger ..............you should only use duplicolor paint ..its made for automobiles and works great wont look regular paint like krylon paint .........use duplicolor
