Default 1989 Ranger Smells

So I recently bought an 1989 Ford Ranger and cleaned out the inside, and sprayed Oust air cleaner in it and let it bake with no luck. The seats still smell.

I know on the newer Rangers the seat covers come off but is it the same design with the 1989 ranger? I cant take out the whole seats due to the mounts are all rusted and the bolts siezed is there a way to take out the covers while the seats still in the truck?

If they dont come out do you guys know any thing that kills odors? I need this smell gone. Yuck!

There should be wire hooks underneath so you can remove the covers plus some miscellaneous bolts and springs. The seat covers should come off though.

Worse comes to worse, you can run a rug scrubber that has an attachment hose in it.

Spray those bolts with PB Blaster and let em sit for a few hrs, and then try to get em out.

Carpet extractor with a hand tool would work... some detail shops have ozone machines which might do the trick, though might be pricey.

yes the covers come off. yes, the seats have to be out to get the covers off. you can get the backs off without removing the seat, but the seat has to come apart to get the bottom cover off. you should be able to unbolt the seat from the tracks. it will be a PITA, but it's doable.
