Default Quick questions for Add-a-Circuit

Picked up an Add-a-Circuit from Canadian Tire and am going to use it to hardwire my CB radio to the fuse box. Do I need to disconnect the battery before pulling out a fuse and putting this Add-a-Circuit in?

Pic in case you haven't seen the Add-a-Circuit: http://www.thompson-automotive.com/i//Add-A-Circuit.jpg

Also - is it just me or is the screw to use for the negative wire (ground) really awkwardly placed in the fuse box (2010 Supercab Sport)? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong one.

Thanks for your help!!

It is always recommended to disconnect at least the negative post before doing any vehicle wiring

Still wondering where to ground the black wire.

Added two pics -- there is a bolt outside the fuse box under the dash. Is that a good place for the ground?

The other pic is the fuse box itself -- is it possible to ground to something inside it?

The best way to tell would be to get a ohm meter and touch the battery ground and the bolt / spot to test if it is a dead short. If it isn't it isn't a good spot and most bolts are grounded and usually work
