Re: Air bag light on
It should flash a sequence of numbers
like 2 flashes then 7 flashes If it was wreaked and they didn't replace the airbag that might be why it is flashing.
If there is no airbag and no wiring for it I dont see how your gonna get it safety inspected with the airbag light on. I dont know of any way to get it off other then pulling the light in the cluster.

Thanks for responding to my question. You are right the air bag light flashes once then nine times. In Kansas we have car inspections but only to make sure the car is not stolen and the title is lagit . Is this an expensive fix as I suspect . Thanks

Re: Air bag light on
It would be a shame not to bring that new a truck up to proper safety standards. Someone in a large city should specialize in air bags and render sound advise and reasonable service. Companies who offer to reset the computer for $50 probably know who to seek out.
Putting myself in your shoes, I wouldn't want to be responsible for someone's unnecessary injury to save a few hundred bux.
I googled "replacing air bag" and found http://www.airbagsolutions.com and several other interesting sites. All is not lost.

Wouldn't that mean the computer that controls the air bag also needs replaced?

Re: Air bag light on

Re: Air bag light on
95-97 are on the core support, but if i understand correctly, 98+ is under the dash under the cup holders.

clock spring is the ribbon wire that is behind the steering wheel. it allows the horn, air bag, and cruise to work while the steering wheel is turned.
