Default Re: Air bag light on

I am having thew same issue - as one of the other posters,

My airbag code is 19

additionally I know the following:

1. The airbag is in place in the steering wheel - how do I know ? because the seam on the steering wheel is open and I can see the airbag in there.
2. My horn is not functioning either.
3. Code 19 means ' the crash data recorder memory in the Restraints Control Module is full ' and the module needs to be replaced ( according to the shop manual ) -

Can anyone suggest an inexpensive fix for this issue ? I'd really like to try to get this truck inspected ( PA - need to get the airbag light to go off ) and actually fix the issue so the airbag functions. The problem is that this truck is just a temporary driver and will hopefully sit idle most of the time once I get my other wheels back on the road.

Ughhh - just bought this truck and didn't really notice the airbag light nor did I try the horn, I was more concerned about the tranny, which is also 'coughing up blood' -
where do I sign up for 'dope of the year' award ?
