Default Speedometer cluster swap

I have a 2000 Ranger, with no tach. I want to swap to a speedometer cluster with a tach. My question is will the odmeter miles beiing different, is the info stored in the ecm?

all stored on the odo dial! you will need to pop off the speedo needles on both clusters and remove the little box with the dials and motor from the backs of them, and then you'll swap your old odo/speedo box onto the new cluster. there's a special procedure for calibrating the speedo again when you put the needle back on, it's on youtube, excellent video. not all that hard to do either.
