Default Dash lights?

Hey guys. Long time no see.

Iím back with a 2008 Sport 4x4. When I got it one of the dash lights was out making it hard to see the fuel gauge at night. So I pulled it all apart to get the bulbs out and headed to the parts store. Unfortunately nobody had anything close to these tiny little bulbs.

So Iím trying to order some, but Iím having trouble figuring out which bulbs I need. I can see thereís something printed on the bulb but I canít really tell what it is.

Anybody know what size bulbs I need?

I saw some of them at advanced and they looked just a little bigger than what was in it before. Would they still work?

Im only about 80% sure they are #74s lol. Only way to be 100% would be to get a good magnifying glass and try to find the number on the bulb. But the sizes can vary a tad between manufacturers.

I just pulled a few other bulbs and found one with darker printing. It says 76 on it, but Iím not finding any 76 online anywhere. I guess I could buy a few 74s and see if they work. My only worry is they were a tiny bit bigger and thereís not much room where they seat.

I got a bunch of them at the junkyard but would like to get the number so I can buy some brand new bulbs. They don't last forever.

I THINK it is an Eiko 2721 bulb, which crosses to a bunch of stuff in this link: https://www.eiko.com/ProductSearch/P...artNumber=2721

Possibly an E37 or E73 which should be the same size. The E73 is about half the brightness & twice the lifetime. I'd have to measure the current draw to get a better idea of which one it is.

Looks like AutoZone has the 2721 https://www.autozone.com/electrical-...ight/16865_0_0

Did you figure out the oem incandescent bulb number though? Might help others when they search the site...

Still not sure. A bunch of places say 74 but the 74s I bought definitely didnít fit. Maybe it was just the manufacturer? The wide part of the bulb wouldnít fit in the socket no matter how hard I pushed it in.

For reference hereís a comparison of the bulbs. The original one I took out is on the right and the 74 I unsuccessfully tried putting in is on the left. The size difference isnít huge but the wide part of the 74 wouldnít let me push it into the socket.

For my 2011 I went with these T5 neo wedge leds that work great. Nice and bright! The dealer quoted me $43 CAD each for the stock ones. I think 20 of these leds were less than $20.
