Default Reinstall kick panels

2002 Ford Ranger w/ Edge package

Searched, but only found thread on removing kick panels. Already did that, and trying to reinstall.

The passenger side appears to have a plastic clip that the kick panel locks into by sliding down. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be enough flex or room to allow the panel to slide over the clip. The bolt holding the dash in further restricts the space.

Can someone please explain how to reinstall the passenger side kick panel?

Thanks.

Pete

Pete, the way I have done mine in my 2000 Ranger is to install the clip on the kick panel first, the slide the top of the kick panel under the upper trim & push the kick panel in place & push on it to click the clip into the body. Then install the trim that has the Ranger name on it to complete the install.

Yeah, I thought of that, but haven't figured out how to get the clip out without destroying it since I really doubt it's still in Ford's stock system.

So how did you remove the clip from the body?

Okay, figured it out, and it worked nicely. For anyone else, the clip can be worked loose by pulling and rocking back 'n' forth so the plastic (nylon?) bristles come out. You may break a few, but should be able to get the clip out.

Me happy camper.
