They used the same harness in all trucks weather they had fog lights ordered on them or not. None of my rangers have the lights either but I do want to add them in the future. From what I understand you SHOULD be able to install the lights, plug in the proper relay/fuse into the fuse box, and get a fog light switch for that year of truck. Also if I recall the fog light switch is enter grated with the headlight switch. But unsure there. The one in the radio bezel should be the plug for 4x4 option.

This is just info I remember from reading up on it a year or so ago.

What bezel do you need? I have some spares I can sell cheap. 4x4 or 4x2

Negative.. Since 1991 Ford omitted all unused or unnecessary circuitry as far as wiring. I was a wire tech for Ford in 95' for the 98 Ranger Explorer platform 3 year advance program in Dearborn, Mich. at a Ford supplier company known then as UTA (United technologies Automotive) which is now been absorbed and absolved by whats more commonly known as the LEAR Corp. UTA and American Yazaki Corp were the only two suppliers for Ford wiring back then. I did functional and NON-functional prototype wiring harness builds from scratch, or the occasional last minute revisions at the Pilot Plant in Dearborn across the street from Fords Tool & Die works.

Unlike my 86' Escort, I could have gone to any dealer and bought a switch, the Marchal lights from the Mustang/Escort GT. Plug and play, everything was there.

after 91' when the Mazda joint campaign started Ford realized it could save $100,000 of thousands of dollars by strictly enforcing mandated circuit only harness which means they were almost build exclusively (to a degree) for each car. Imagine that X's 400,000 possible vehicles, Per model.. etc
If you made $80k a year would you miss a 2% change in your income? Now think about what Ford losing or gaining a 2% margin with their income earnings.

I think in his case, a previous owner has added or taken away features or it was a build that used last remaining of parts when others weren't available/in excess in order to squeeze another unit off the line for that build day.

Sometimes they did partially or fully pre-wire trucks for fogs, either omitting some wiring, relays, fuses, etc.
I've had tons of guys with the same situation: "i have the plug behind the bezel but no switch" or "i have the plugs behind the bumper but no plug behind the bezel".

You can try to determine if you have all the necessary wiring & if you're lucky, you'll only need a couple parts & a bezel with the fog switch opening & bracket... or if that's too much work (it can be a PITA) you could grab one of my oem fog wiring kits.

My kits bypass all the factory wiring & will allow you to control pretty much any 12v light or accessory with a oem switch on the bezel.

http://www.fordrangerforum.com/frf/manuals/1999.pdf. Look on pages 134 - 140 it gives the fuses & relays. On page 139 it states fuse #-4 in the power dist box under the hood is for the fog lights & DRL, & on page #-136 it states fuse #-8 is for the fog lamp relay.
