Default seat buckle compatability

my seat buckle (female end of the belt) failed today, was originally looking at replacing it with a new one- but before I shell out does anyone know if the rear jump seat buckles could be swapped in?

We need more info, what year is your truck?

But most likely, they shouldn't work. And to test it you can just pull the belt back there.

I didn't think about it since its in the signature, but its an 02, the question was more is the sensor for the alarm inside just the drivers buckle or built into them all and plugged in on the drivers

If you look at the buckle (either front side seat) you'll notice it plugs into the truck electrically. Both also have a pretensioner.

This means that if you unplug the harness, your airbags will be deactivated, and if you get into a crash using a buckle other than that with a pretensioner (even with the one you have now plugged in to keep the airbags working) the pretensioner will not fire and you'll have a lot of slop in your seatbelt.

If your buckle is not working, you need to:
1. Fix it.
2. Buy a new one.

Getting a new one, you could either go new from the dealer (safest option) to ensure the thing keeping you alive works, or go to the junkyard to pull one you hope is good.

If you do the junkyard route, you must make sure the pretensioner has not been fired and that the buckle is from a 01 to 03 year truck.
