I have an 04 Edge ext cab. Behind the seats there are slots for some type of tray or shelf. Anyone familiar with these or know where I might purchase one?

If I recall, there was a mini rolled tonneau cover that you could pick up as an accessory for that. That J hooked section held the pull bar in place from snapping back under the tension. Kinda like what we see in SUV's today.

I may have a solution for you if you were interested in actually putting a semi-permanent shelf in that spot..?

I am open to suggestions. I am planning on using a 1X12 for a shelf and 1" pvc tubing for legs, but I am definitely open to other options.

Yeah my 94 had one. Some explorers came with them too. It just rolled forward and hides everything

Curious on what everyone is using for storage in the b k? I have taking my rear seats out as I will never have anyone back there. What storage ideas have you guys tried?

I'm curious as well. My seats are still there but wouldn't take long to remedy that! For now I just 'hide' my little hydraulic jack and lug wrench behind the passenger side seat, thrown everything else on the floor. Mine does have a small cargo net across the back.

Well, I finally got around to building my shelf. I made a 1/2" pvc pipe frame and used a 1X12 and a 1X4 for the shelf. I glued the two pieces of wood together and used a couple of blocks underneath for strength and fastened the frame with one-hole emt clamps. I covered it with some inexpensive black Naugahyde. The 1X's will just fit between the top of the storage bins and the bottom of the speaker housings. You'll want remove one of the speakers to make it easier to install.
