Default Custom Center Console Build

Decided to finally build myself a center console, I was tired of the old, nasty and torn up factory console long ago and finally got around to building a new one this weekend.

Started by doing the 60 40 mod and cutting out the center seat. Then I just bought some half inch MDF board and got to cutting and fitting all the pieces. Took me a while to get it to fit right especially with two ten inch subs between the seats, but I think it fits good now.

Added a rocker panel and finished by covering it with some foam stuff I bought and then come multicam material over that. Turned out really nice, all I want to do now is mount my PA inside the console and get a lock box down in the bottom of the console and attach it to the frame or something, haven't decided yet.

I could go into more detail on the build if anyone wants me to. Let me know what yall think.

I love it! do you have any numbers to start with? Where did you get the light switch pannel. I like the idea of mounting the subs there, I have been considering subs but I don't know if I want to do 2 or just one. but with this set up I could easily use 2 and save tons of space. I have an extended cab and have both of them facing to the rear. this is a huge game changer for me. thanks for the idea.

Thanks guys! Glad yall like it.

I don't have any numbers right now but I could go measure probably later tonight. When I built it I just measured how long and how high I wanted it at its highest point then I just started measuring depth in and around all the contours on the trans tunnel and on the floor in the back and cut till it fit right. Usually it would take me a few cuts because I cut the least amount first so I wouldn't mess it up.

I like the place the subs are a lot. Before I had a huge box that sat on the jumper seats in the back and it took up all of the room back there. Now small people could actually use the seats back there but I really like it just because I have space back there again. The subs I have are 10s and they barely fit between the seats, they rub the seats when they are fully reclined and you have to pull the seats just a bit to get them back and forth. I already had the 10s but if you don't already have subs I would consider 8s just so they fit better.

And I got the switch panel from ebay for like $35. Its awesome, its got 6 switched, two usb charges a 12v charger and a volt gauge. I could make them pretty easily if you want something different than found on ebay.

Awesome I'll see if I can find them. As for the subs I don't have any yet. My ranger is in process of getting a new engine. Bought it last night and when this darn rain decides to quit I'll get it in there. Hopefully this week!!! If you could get some basic measurements that would be great when I do front seat upgrade this will deffently be in the works!!!

I did a search and can't find anything on the 60/40 mod. I'm interested in building a console such as yours but need to know more about the mod.
