Default 92 Door Window Replacement

Hi all,

I have a 92 with power windows and am planing a trip to the wrecking yard for a passenger side window.

Can I use a window from a truck with manual windows? Are the windows the same for a regular cap vs an extended cab?

(89-92 should all be the same body)

THANK YOU

You could do that with some luck or in the sense of paying cash/carry, usually the auto glass places can have a new one within an hr or two as a back up suggestion.

A manual window will have a slightly different regulator system and I believe if memory serves me right, they should both use the same locator holes in the glass. Make sure you thoroughly clean all plastic pieces of all dirt before reassembling as a precaution from having some grit fall between them and the glass and upon tightening down it cracks the glass.

Reassemble as the original was, should be minor adjustments needed if you look at where the old bolts were torqued into place and scuffed the paint some.

And the doors should be the same in all dimensions, just the addition of the xtra cab changed the vehicles wheelbase dimensions.

Anyone else have anything to add I may have forgotten?

I can't recall if they are the same or not, might not be, but I actually have a passenger side manual window from a 92 Explorer in my basement. I've had it sitting down there since 1998 when I banged up that door. The replacement door came with a window so I just kept the old one.

Thanks for the replies, I will let you know once I go to the wrecking yard. Hopefully they have one with power. I just know there are way more manual windows than auto.

Does anyone know if a bronco 2 door is the same as the ranger door? I think a lot of the bronco II had power windows. (For the same reason I need a passenger side window) The window was missing when I bought the truck otherwise I would pull what I could out and compare.
