I just bought my 99 ranger a couple months ago and i'm pretty new to modding and this site. I have some questions for some of seasoned vets of this forum. I want to possibly do a full length center console and maybe throw in some bucket seats.

1. what is the degree of difficulty for this mod?
2. will the seats i'm seeing on ebay for my model truck actually work for this mod?
3. what year and model explorer full length console could I install in my regular cab?

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!

95-01 There are plenty of write-ups too if you look around the how to section. Id go for a yard it's much cheaper shipping seats and a console will murder your wallet. They are just too bulky and heavy. Now are you going to get the trip computer in the console or just the storage pocket? That will determine how much stuff you need.

Easy afternoon job. Go to a salvage yard and get power leather seats and the console form a 2000 expo. Make the holes a little bigger in the seat tracks, run a good power and ground wire to the black with white stripes, and black wire of the harness you cut out of the expo, move the airbag cutoff switch, drill a couple of holes in the floor for the rear mount for the console and have a nice day.

Picked up my full length console out of a 98 expo for about $30 and modded my 60/40 seats into buckets. The front of that generation console bolts right up to the dash and as stated before you will need some method of attaching it at the rear. Check out the "how-to" section for write ups on both of these mods. The full length expo console is one of my favorite mods.

1. Easy/beginner. You have to drill 4 mounting holes in your floor, but other than that the center console is bolt in. The seats, depending on which year explorer you get them from, will require a little work. But, there are plenty of threads about what's needed on this site.

2. Are you looking at ranger seats or explorer seats? I have power leather seats out of 2000 explorer.


3. Any 2nd gen (95-01) will be the best fit.
