Re: Explorer seat swap into ranger
They will all need some modification. I believe mine were 97 but anything from like 94-01 I believe it was when the body style changed should fit fine. The older expos will too the tracks didn't change all that much but 94-01 are easiest. I got the seats and center console from a local yard. The bolt holes are smaller on the Expo so you will need to drill them slightly larger to fit the ranger seat bolts. Also I had to swap my ranger pretensioners over since the Expo buckles mount to the floor. And I would recommend getting a few inches of the harness after the connecter that way you can still remove the seats if necessary without cutting your wires.

Mine came out of a 2000. Only thing I had to do was open up the mounting holes and fab up a bracket for seatbelt buckle.

I just used an existing hole in the bottom frame and a stack of grade 8 washers to space it out. Worked like a charm. That was before I had any fab skills haha.

I did some thing similar. Opened up two existing holes in the frame, mounted a piece of flat stock to those, and bolted the buckle to the flat stock. Ugly, but sufficient. Haha.

No unfortunately that phone they were on is long gone. Now once you get the seats it will be fairly obvious what we are talking about. The inside back corner of the bottom of the seat you will see a couple holes you can mount the buckle too. Just test fit them till it's in a comfortable position and bolt it down. Think I spent like $5 at the local hardware store for the grade 8 stuff. But be sure you use grade 8 don't skimp it's your life here remember.
Also for the mounting bolts once you pull the ranger seat mounting bolts out you will see what we mean. I think mine were actually square holes so all I had to do was round them out and the ranger bolts fit right in. It's only two of the holes though the other two fit as they were.
Also if you want the lumbar. Id go ahead and replace the switches while it's out 99% of the time they don't work and that's the culprit they are cheap on eBay.
Also if you need to reupholster some of it. There is a place in Texas that sells the whole kit or individual panels. I replaced mine as I went. They also have the foams as well I'll try to find their site again if youd like it.

Re: Explorer seat swap into ranger
I used 1998 for mine. Hard part was getting power to them. I cut a piece of 1-inch by 1-inch steel angle to hold the seat belts in. Also had to tap the mount in back for the rear seatbelts.
