The manner and/or type of malfunction aside - There isn't a "fix" outside of replacing them as far as I've even seen.
alright thanks, I guess I was thrown off by the same style and material as explorers than because I haven't seen an explorer with rubber paddles, thanks for the insight

Sometimes sitting in the junkyards in the elements makes them feel different. I had a stack of these at one time that I pulled from the yard. They all had different textures. Someone may have swapped them before in the past.

the pod top covers re bad about turning into rock hard crap & peeling coverings.
the ones in my ranger just started peeling, only thing to do is either find a good soft set from a junkyard or ebay... possibly from some place like partsgeek.com

it's simple enough to change them out though.
