Default Help! Trying to fix extended cab rear window leak

So I finally took apart my interior today and popped the window out so I could replace the weather seal.

I bought Frost King's 3/8 vinyl weatherstrip and the window won't pop back into place. The seal doesn't seem to compress enough.

I can't find the right product. Body shops don't have it, parts stores don't carry 3/8s, etc.

I understand many people use 3M automotive tape.

Anyone think they can't link me to the right product?

I checked the third brake light and the rubber insert that acts as a weatherstrip looks brand new. I think my brothers installed that before.

If someone could get me pointed in the right direction, that would be great. Looks like I'm gonna have to throw things back together until I can get the right product.

Ughh

Are you talking about the rear glass or the side door glass.

The entire window. It's the inner weatherseal for it

[QUOTE="therangerofdanger;2675760"]Hey I Had The Same Problem

I sealed the entire outside of the window and around the third brake light with RTV,
worked like a charm no more leaks.
of course the best fix is new seals for rear window and the third brake light...

Just did this on my 04. I used the 3M 3/8" window-weld round ribbon sealer. When reinstalling the window, I ran into the same problem. The 3/8" was very difficult to compress enough to seat the black trim around the window back against the body of the truck. I was able to get it close enough that no one would see it unless they know what they're looking for. If I were to do it over again, I'd probably go with the same stuff in 1/4" rather than 3/8".
