Default Non-replaceable 12v port corrosion.

Does anyone have a method for cleaning the corrosion inside of the non-replaceable 12v port? (the one with a cover over it)

Scotchbrite, or replace with a new one. They are both removable and the cover is a separate piece from the outlet. Remove radio bezel, and the outlet has an inner and outer barrel. Unscrew them and it will detach from bezel.

If you remove the 12 volt socket as described above, soak it in a 50/50 white vinegar and water solution. once the corrosion is dissolved soak in a baking soda water solution.

then rinse with water or distilled water if you have any.

Blow it off with compressed air or let it drip dry.

This works with corroded electrical connectors as well.

For a better job drop it in a ultrasonic jewelry cleaner using the above solutions
