This is my 2005 interior

Has anyone swapped out this bench seat for 2 bucket seats? I want to make my own center console (or at least find a better one) and have some nicer seats. Having issues with holding my phone and big gulp at the same time while shifting lol

Funny thing, I'm doing the same exact project this weekend! Same exact 60/40 charcoal and black bench, going to 2 grey buckets out of an explorer and making a center console myself! Going to make the console with a plus-sized cupholder and hopefully a biometric locking compartment for my CCW

Wow, high tech!!!! Will the biometric have constant power, or only when the truck is turned on?

What year Explorer did you get the seats from, and will the center console that you make be able to flip up, or just be bolted down? I watched a video on YouTube by chrisfix about building your own center console.

Haven't thought too much about the biometric system yet, just brainstorming for now on that but I intent on having it constantly powered. Or, I may purchase a battery powered safe and bolt it directly into the floor with the door towards the back of the cab, and build the console around it. Lots of ideas floating around!

I bought the seats out of a 2000 Explorer Sport, should be a damn near exact fit (maybe a little widening of the holes needed)

And ChrisFix is the one who got me hooked in the idea of making my own console too! It's going to be bolted directly to the floor, no flip up. Still deciding how far forward I want it to go. I might pull out the little black plastic piece under the center of the dash and bring it all the way up.

Interesting. I want to go the other way. I have an 04 FX4 with the buckets, and I want to go to the 60-40 style.

I actually picked up a set of black/gray, heated, 60-40's today, here in Mn. The guy I bought them from went to leather Explorer seats. As soon as I get the chance (weather permitting) I'll swap out my buckets and put them up for sale here. I don't have the room to keep them.
