Default gas gauge

Whenever i turn my car off the gas gauge stays at the same spot when in all the other cars ive driven its always went down to zero when i turn it off. Is it supposed to be like that or is there a problem with the float in the gas tank?

Mine does it too. Even my other car does it and it is also a Ford product. Its completely normal.
