Question Abs light on.?

I changed my brakes on the front about 3 days ago & when I just started my truck & started driving it I noticed my abs light was on, it's never been on before & im not even 100% sure my truck has abs. Any ideas on why it would have just come on days after changing pads.? Something I could have done while changing or what.? & how do I know if I even have abs.? I remember in the recent snow we had when I hit the brakes it slid very easily & didn't jump or hop so to say (like any other car I've been in with abs) like it does have it. Thanks.

Not sure what the issue could be, but it is possible to have abs but not 4 wheel abs(I'm pretty sure), my 94 ranger has rear wheel abs. I could not get the abs to engage ever, it always locks all 4 when you slam on the breaks.

Must be some sensors on the back somewhere, I'd look and see what the wiring looks like, make sure nothing got disconnected.

Just go to an oreillys and tell them to check it for codes. Whatever is wrong it'll pop up. When my abs light came on it turned out the rear center sensor needed to be replaced. The part is like $20 and you basically unscrew the old one and screw in the new one. Not sure if we share the same problem, but I hope it helps.

Two things...

First, I have never been to any auto parts shop with a reader they lend out able to read ABS codes, if a store near you is able to, you are lucky.

Second, he has a 93 (according to his sig) so he does not have OBD2, so stores may not be able to read them, or the truck may not be able to show a code (honestly, I do not know how OBD1 works)

Could be a loose connection to the sensor, happened for my truck.
