My vote is when you get the truck, do some maintenance, such as oil change, diff fluid, air filter, seafoam, plugs/wires, etc. before you start modding. There's nothing more horrible than a nice looking ranger with a whiny power steering pump or an exhaust leak.

I'm a fan of subtle changes, so with that said, I would replace worn out piece in the cab.. maybe look into getting new carpet, maybe repaint your dash/doors black, add an explorer center console, stuff like that. Maybe all you need is a really good cleaning to freshen things up....

yeah i was thinking of repainting the dash black, well the things that are meant to be black anyways. how would you go about doing that? take out and apart the plastics i want to paint, hit it with primer, then some color, then some clear coat. i was thinking krylon fusion for the paint just cuz it is made to stick the plastics. can you do an explorer center console with a standard? i also want to do an explorer overhead console. do you know the year i would have to get.... 93 i would think cuz that is the year of my truck. but other than that it is clean as far as smells and stains go. i mean the interior and exterior for that matter are in SUPER good condition. i would replace the carpet but it just straight up does not need it lol. (and sorry the pic is so bad my phone is really REALLY bad lol) thanks.

to paint, do it the right way.... remove everything, clean it with soap and water, let it dry 100%, now you have options, you can sand it to remove texture and have it smooth, or simply scuff it with a green cleaning pad to help the primer stick better, clean it again (you can also use mineral spirits, or alcohol to clean it with) spray a couple coats of primer and paint.... make sure you are using primer/paint designed for plastic/vinyl. I would not clear coat it because although it will look super shinny, it can be a bad thing for your entire dash with the glare coming off it in the sun...

ii agree with everyone else, painted crap everywhere looks gay and cheap. just clean it up real good inside and like fx4 said, replace worn stuff like carpet. There is nothing like a nice clean stock looking interior!

good point on the glare, i never thought of that i just thought i would do it to protect it to keep it from chipping. and i am not going to paint everything. i was just going to paint the parts and MAYBE some small other things that need it back to its original color. my bad for not getting that out. and dixie_boysles i really like what you did to yours. it not over the top and crazy. it is something that you can call your own and unique all at the same time

I have the same exact system as you. The sony XPLOD headunit and Pioneers 6x8 all around. I love it, but definitely wish I had a sub.
