Default Crank to Power Window & Lock Conversion

Hi,

I have a 2006 Ford Ranger Sport- I currently have crank windows and manual locks. I would like to find kits to change this over to power windows & power locks w/ keyless entry. Any ideas where I can get quality kits? I really want to be able to pick up the kits and do it myself.

Would I have to change my door panels? or could I do this with the exisiting panels?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't think you would have to change your door panels. Just more work but it would look better if you did get the power window and locks door panels.

Did you ever find a kit? Im looking to do that same conversion. And yes youll want new door panels or else it will look aftermarket and messy but you would save a little cash.

I also have an 06 with manual locks and have done a bunch of research on aftermarket kits. Before I buy one, I was kind of wondering if it would be best to grab the parts from a junk yard. Does anyone know if the manual lock trucks have a plug under the dash (pre-wired)?

What are your thoughts....better to put in an aftermarket or parts from a junk yard?

Thanx, Dan

I did the full conversion on my truck to OEM parts and my truck wasn't wired for it. It still wasn't that hard. One of the best mods I did to my truck.

So did you buy from a junk yard or brand new parts?

Great info.....Thanx, I was just trying to figure out it it'd be best to go take stuff off a junker or go aftermarket. I don't need anything fancy, just functional. I'll go to a junk yard this weekend to chck things out.
It doesn't look like it would be a hard job to do....If my truck doesn't have prewired plugs somewhere's under the dash, I'll probably go aftermarket.
