Better question: to make a sturdy seat mount do I need to weld, or will some flat stock/angle iron and self-tapping screws get the job done?

I own a drill, but welding is a different story.

So he has the seats and the truck but is asking everyone here if they will fit??? Trial and error, thats all you can do with any kind of mod.

Sure this will work but I wouldn't want some angle iron and self tapping screws holding me in place when I get into an accident.

Drill new holes in the bottom of your seats and use some decent nuts and bolts to fasten your tracks to the new seat. A little bit of fabrication know how goes a long way... You don't have to be a journeyman welder to swap some dang seats.

Old tracks

Where do I even start? The seats are coming from a 92 explorer and going into a 99 ranger.

My only worry is that there isn't a seat pan under the new seats (because they're from a 92). Hoping not to waste any money on 93-97 tracks only to find out I don't need them. Wondering if I can just break the rivets off that
hold the bracket that attaches to the track and be good to go.
